Demi Lovato Biography

Demetria Devonne Lovato, who turned 17 in August, is an actress and song writer here in the United States. She is most famous for her role as Mitchie in the move Camp Rock, appearing on the Disney Channel. She also is known for her role in the Disney Channel Series- As the Bell Rings, where she plays Charlotte.

Demi, born in Dallas, Texas is Hispanic, Irish and Italian all in one. She has two sisters- Dallas(21), and Madison(5). Dallas is an actress and singer as well. Demi’s mother- Deana was a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys, and also a country music recording artist. Demi’s father, Patrick moved to New Mexico, when Demi was 6 years old, and doesn’t get an opportunity to see Demi much.  Demi’s Step-Father is Edward De La Garza who also serves as part of her management team. Demi attends Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District- where she goes to school at Cross Timbers Middle School.

She began acting at the young age of 6 years old, when she was a regular on the Barney and Friends series. Doing this role is where she met her best friend- fellow actress- Selena Gomez.  As she continued to sing, Demi starred on Prison Break, Just Jordan, and on Disney Channel series- As the Bell Rings. She will also star on another Disney Channel Series called Welcome to Mollywood, set to come up in September. Demi is also in the Disney favorite- Camp Rock, where she plays Mitchie Torres.

Lovato, and her good friends the Jonas Brothers often times write songs together, and she opened for them last summer on their tour. Since then Demi has release her second album Here We Go Again and headlined her own tour this past summer with David Archuleta opening for her.

Demi is currently shooting the sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in Toronto with the Jonas Brothers. Camp Rock 2 is scheduled to be released sometime in the summer of 2010.
